Many young people from the Netherlands have helped to build Goeie Hoopop in the past 13 years. In the beginning with the entire care of the children, later with supporting activities and later again with assisting the local workers. Due to stricter regulations, volunteers are no longer allowed to work with the children without supervisors, making it more difficult, as in previous years, to offer a meaningful volunteer period. Due to the Corona pandemic with the associated limitations, Goeie Hoop no longer has volunteers from the Netherlands since March 2020. Instead of Dutch volunteers, local volunteers are currently helping. They assist the children with their homework, organize activities and hold Bible Clubs. After the Corona crisis, a further decision will be taken on offering volunteer work for Dutch volunteers. This can be, for example, in the form of working holidays.
